The impeachment trial was ended. It is the first impeachment trial in the Philippines that was started and ended successfully. The sin of the Chief Justice is a sin that is commonly committed by ordinary government and non government employee, not declaring his total assets and liabilities in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth. But they insist that his position as Chief Justice must carry an example that should be followed. The Guilty vote are 20, while Senators who voted Not Guilty are 3. They pointed out different reasons and positions for their judgement.
The Senators who voted Not Guilty are Sen. Mirriam Defensor Santiago, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, and Senator Joker Arroyo. The rest of the Senators voted Guilty for Chief Justice Renato Corona.
The Senator Judges not only spend effort and time for this matter, but has postpone different important task that should be done. The Government has also spent 5.7 million for the trial. They have spent for the following;

- Food
- Reimbursement, and
- Unliquidated expenses
