I was teaching and repairing computer for more than a decade now. In maintaining our computers we have only two focus, the hardware and the software. The hardware are any part of the computer that is tangible or you can hold, the software are programs installed in a computer so that it will work and function together with the hardware.
For normal usage, the hardware will last or maintain functional from two to five years, you must purchase a brand new computer to enjoy these privilege. If the hardware will exist for more than five years, it will still function but it will not be as efficient as it was before because software is always upgraded. Be sure to keep the receipt of purchase for warranty purposes, any part that will not function under warranty can be replaced by the supplier or dealer, that is the normal procedure, but there are some parts that is covered only for six or one month warranty. You may ask question from your dealer or shop where you have purchased it, for assistance with trouble, have their contact number. Don't try to open a unit that is under warranty period, tell the dealer regarding any trouble and let them do the repair and replacement.
For software, I am only particular with Microsoft Windows operating system, other OS like Linux and React are not much familiar to me, though some who have used it, says that it has only small difference. To use your computer hardware with software need not much knowledge, all you need is the ability to understand the language of computer. Be careful with delete and format, when opening a program or any file read and follow instruction carefully. Be extra careful in opening file storage gadget like USB's, they might contain virus that could infect and destroy your programs and files. We'll tell you later on, how to protect your computer from virus and the appropriate anti virus for your computer.
Remember, your computer hardware and software will last longer if you posses the knowledge of operating and maintaining it.
