Supreme Student Government 2012: Make it Happen

Binalonan, Pangasinan- The Division Leadership Training for Supreme Student Government Officers was held last February 2-4, 2012, at JGMNHS with theme; Make it Happen. Several student leaders and advisers had attended this 3 days seminar  and training to prepare not only student leaders but also advisers, for their task.
Here are some of the different activities taken;

The Theme.

Irene H. Fernandez, Introducing the Keynote Speaker
A speaker introduction is a guidepost and inspiration.
Atty. Francis Melville V. Tinio, the Keynote Speaker.
He shared and discuss the following;

  • He shares the story of Abraham Lincoln, how he run for election from lower position to presidency, he was several times defeated but finally win in his campaign for president of USA.
  • He also share the story about the life and career of Sylvester Stallone, when he made an script for a movie that he want to be an actor, several producers denied his offer, but when finally a small producer had gave him a chance to do it, he made it and continue making several award winning movie.
  • He also shares the story of Thomas Alva Edison, his experience in making an experiment to make an incandescent bulb, he made so many mistake until he finally made it. 
  • Make it Happen is his challenge to students and advisers of SSG.

Discussing the following;
He talks about a Leader, his purpose and ideas to sell.
He brought out this statement, "Doing things right and Doing what is right."
Doing things right is tactical, it is manager's style of leadership.
Doing what is right is strategical, it is a leader style of leading.

The necessities in having a goal;
  1. To commit yourself into it.
  2. To visualize the outcome that you want to have.
  3. Prepare for anything that may possibly happen.  He quoted that, "Failing to prepare is prepare to fail."
  4. Just do it. Enjoy the things that you're for your goal to achieve it.
  5. Be ready for failure. Though you have prepare and plan well, be ready for any untoward incidents.
  6. Enjoy the Journey. Come what may, accept it and continue.
