Putting Money in Their Pockets and then Set it on Fire

Get another idea to earn money if you can relate to the story below;
You've undoubtedly heard the saying "his money's burning a hole in his pocket." It's used to describe people who can't keep their hands off their money; they can't wait to spend it. I've done a lot of selling by first putting money in the prospect's pocket, then setting it on fire. You can too.
I sold millions of dollars of cassette learning systems to doctors in evening seminars; the seminar were free, but the doctors had to post a $25.00 deposit to guarantee they would show up. The deposit was "refundable" at the end of the seminar. After presenting the "commercial" and closing the sale, I'd do a "Columbo"- a sales techniques named after the rumpled raincoat-clad character played by Peter Falk and famous for saying, "Just one more thing..." I would say,

Getting the Selling Profession Security

Of course, It will be less honest if I'll not telling that the high income potential offered in the profession of selling is a tremendous lure to those who are ambitiously dissatisfied with having low ceilings established on their worth and activities. I'll also tell you that this adds

The purpose of listening for effective Selling

In selling, you should be listening with purpose. Not just to build rapport, not to be polite, not to flatter, not to seduce, but more strategic acquisition of important and useful information.

Here are several of the most important things to listen for:
  • What keeps him up at night to sleep, bile crawling up his esophagus from frustration, anger and resentment? Remember, relief of pain sells more than potential gain.
  • What does he fear and worry about most? Remember that, fear is the most powerful of all motivation forces.

Keys to Tuning Up Your Sales Force

Many cars today tell the driver when it is time to perform maintenance. Even better, some tell the driver that maintenance is needed in 1,000 miles with updates along the way. It would be great if as a business executive or small business owner, you had this kind of technology at your fingertips. Unfortunately, managing a sales organization will always be a manual effort. Sure, CRMs and contact managers help, but there is no technology that replaces the leadership associated with sales management. Not sure where to dig into your sales organization? Here are twelve areas that will show just how game ready you are.

  1. Business Objective. In your capacity, I’ll bet you can cite the objectives of the business

How to Ensure Success

What every dealer should do, bad economy or not, here are ways to ensure it;
 Even in tough times, there are opportunities for car dealers who intend not just to survive, but to thrive.
While there is no simple recipe, these 10 tips will virtually ensure success.
  1. Despite what’s happening around you, stand up and make things happen. It takes a real leader to do that in the face of adversity.

  2. Sometimes there are no quick fixes, but even a month can make a difference. The 30-day fix: Use a legal pad and for a month, write down every problem that

The Steps for Using the Positive Power of Negative Preparation

Get the Positive Power of Negative Preparation

This subject is not common and is unfamiliar, but if you are in business particularly in sales, you have to have some techniques that is not familiar to your competitors to be on top if you execute it nicely. Let us learn from this technique;
Most successful coaches go into each game with more than one prepared game plan. They have a plan to follow if their team gets ahead early in the game. They have a different plan to follow if their team falls behind. They have alternate plans ready to use different combinations of players in case one key player is injured during the game. That's not negative thinking; that's the power of negative preparation.
Let's also read from Dan Kennedy;
I've done a lot of work in planning, scripting, and implementing group sales presentations and training others to do the same. What I call "group presentation marketing" applies to everything from a Tupperware party to a seminar designed to sell $50,000.00 real estate partnerships. There are a lot of special techniques for this type of marketing, but one of the most important is the anticipation and removal of the reasons for refusal or procrastination on the audience's part. Sometimes this is done with subtlety, weaving the objections and responses into the presentation. Other times it's done quite openly. One very successful presentation I designed ended with the presenter listing on the flop-chart the four main reasons why people don't join-and then answering every one of them. But in every case, every possible problem was thought out in advance and countered somehow during the presentations.
  You have to do this when you are selling in print. I am paid from a $15,00.00 to $70,000.00 plus royalties as a direct-response copywriter to write full-page newspaper and magazine ads, sales letter, infomercials, and other marketing documents. More than 85% of all clients who use me once do so repeatedly-in spite of my high fees. Why? One reason is my very thorough negative preparation. When I'm creating an advertisement, brochure, or direct-mail piece, I make list of every reason I can think of why the reader would not respond to the offer. I use that list of "negatives" as a guide in writing the copy. And the other top direct response copywriters I know, like my friend John Carlton, also carefully consider these potential obstacles to the sale when crafting a message. This approach produces some of the most powerful selling techniques in print in the world.

How to Steal Customers

The book Grab more Market Share-How to Wrangle Business Away from Lazy Competitors by Ross Shafer lays out a slew strategies for growing your business by stealing away competitors' customers.
Here are five of Shafer's tips for snatching more market share:
1. Stay relevant through innovation. One great way to gain market share is to spot new trends ahead of competitors. Listen carefully when you're chatting with friends, watching the news, or listening to kids talk about what they like. Think about how new technology might change your industry-in the U.S. that was Netflix's opening to crush Blockbuster. There may be change in the wind your business can jump on.
2. Respond to customers-fast. Remember when leaving a voice mail that says. "I'll get back to you within 24 hours" seemed responsive? Not anymore. In this age of real-time Twitter customer-support, shoppers are increasingly loyal to the company that can fix their problem right now. Check out how fast your competitors respond, and then be faster, and customer will take notice.
3. Use customers' Ideas. Companies such as Treadless have thrived by putting customers at the center of their business and letting them design their t-shirts. Keep an open channel for customers ideas-one of them might be your next hit product.
4. Snap up competitors. Sometimes the easiest way to get more customers is to simply buy them. Watch for competitors that might be up for sale and purchase their customers lists. Shafer loves Baron Rothschild's famous quote, "The time to buy is when there is blood in the streets." Capitalize on today's economic chaos to solidify your business's position.
5. Be more flexible. Are your competitors still expecting workers to warm a chair from 9 to 5 in their office every weekday? You could steal their best people by simply offering more flexibility in how and where people work.

How to turn No into Yes in Selling

People start out by saying no to things for many, many reasons. It's sort of an automatic, knee-jerk, defense mechanism. They may not fully understand the matter you are dealing with and be too embarrassed to admit it. They may not know how to intelligently make decision. They may lack self-confidence and self-esteem. They may be afraid. They may have financial problems that (in their minds) preclude them from going along with you. There are probably hundreds of possible reasons for "the erroneous no." Don't let it stop you.

Eight Steps for Getting Past No

  1. Determine that you are going to exert control over the situation and the other people involved.
  2. Determine that you can and will get positive results even in negative situations.
  3. Get your ego out of the way.
  4. Do not confuse refusal with rejection.
  5. Be more interested in achieving positive results than in anything else.
  6. Understand that most no's are erroneous.
  7. Ignore the "erroneous no." Keep making your case. Keep probing for the real reason for reluctant or refusal.
  8. Respond only to real reasons. Don't get caught  up in responding to "erroneous no's"-that's like wrestling with a phantom.

  Understanding, remembering, and using these eight steps will help you convert many refusals to ultimate acceptance. However, having said all this, a much, much smarter approach is to place yourself in Low-Resistance Selling Situations, where these techniques aren't required at all. A great deal of traditional sales training focuses on "closing," but I maintain if you need to close, you open poorly. The close should be effortless, painless, automatic.

The Different Hindrances in Selling.

Before we remove the different hindrances in Selling, let us point them out.
Here are the major hindrances that was pointed out by experts and motivators in selling;
  • no demand or need
  • no finance or money
  • not yet require or no hurry.
  • no likes or desire. and
  • no confident or trust.
These are the different factors that block and hinders selling. Unless you learned to cope with these hindrances, then you may become successful in the venture of selling.
Let us learn to encounter, persuade, and let them believed and accept what we are offering them.

First, be familiar with your product, goods, and services. Then find prospect that really need your product, evaluate your prospect before approaching them, prepare answers to possible questions that may arise. Identify why, what you offer is really fitting to his need. Remember that you're there to offer help and services for his needs.
